Rotary Club of Taradale Charitable Trust

Our Charitable Trust contributes to many local and overseas causes, both financially and or by provision  of labour and expertise.

Donations and support  have been made to the following causes:
  • Polio Plus-Towards eradication of Polio worldwide
  • Cure Kids
  • Emergency Response Kits-Provision of disaster emergency shelter
  • Rotary Pathways Trust-Cycleways throughout Napier & Hastings
  • Puketapu Cycle Shelter
  • Dolbel Reserve-Taradale
  • Provision of school book shipments to Solomon Islands
  • Provision of school desks & chairs to Solomon Islands
  • Childrens Christmas Appeal
  • Cure Kids  Appeal  
  • HB Child Cancer Support  Foundation
  • Rotary International  Foundation
  • EIT Scholarship Awards of Excellence
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
  • Rotary Youth Programme for Enrichment
  • International Youth Student Exchange

  • Plus many miscellaneous ongoing  grants to local people and community groups

The Rotary Club of Taradale has also formed the following Charitable Trusts for specific purposes, which it naturally strongly supports financially, with Trusteeship and manpower.

Oliver Smailes Memorial Trust 
Established in 2005 to provide for the training and education of nurses and support staff of HB childrens services.

Kelvin Tremain Memorial Education Trust
Established in 1979 to provide funding assistance for local students undertaking tertiary education  
  
Camp Kaitawa Trust
Established in 1967 to operate an outdoor education facility adjacent to Te Urewera National Park which is used by schools and community groups.

Willpower Trust
Established in 2013 to undertake the promotion and presentation of Shakespeare drama in Hawkes Bay.
 
Another notable project the Club is involved with supporting local community.

Brigato International Student Exchange
Established in 2003 to foster an annual two way exchange of viticulture & wine making students between EIT  Taradale and Scuola di Viticoltura ed Enologia, Conegliano, Northern Italy.
